Heba Salama, Head of COMESA RIA named One of the 50 Most Influential Women in Egypt

Heba Salama, Head of COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA), was selected as one of Egypt’s 50 most influential women for 2017. The prestigious annual list honours top 50 women who have been playing an active role in the development aspects of the Egyptian human resources, economy and society.

Heba Salama, Head of COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA), was selected as one of Egypt’s 50 most influential women for 2017. The prestigious annual list honours top 50 women who have been playing an active role in the development aspects of the Egyptian human resources, economy and society.

Heba Salama was recognized at the award ceremony held January 28th, 2018 under the auspices of H. E. Sherif Ismail, Prime Minister of Egypt, and the participation of high-level government officials and leaders of the Egyptian business community.

“I am proud as an Egyptian and African woman to be part of such distinguished platform that acknowledges and brings together successful women who contributed effectively to the development of their field of expertise.”, said Heba Salama. “as head of COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA), we believe that Egypt – as part of COMESA – under the leadership of H. E. Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, President of Egypt, has been playing an active role towards intensifying cross border collaboration, and we are always ready to support such efforts to achieve Africa’s sustainable and inclusive growth”. She added.
 
Heba Salama is an expert on business and investment promotion and cooperation, specialized on African affairs and regional economic communities. With a background of over 20 years working in the region, she now heads the COMESA Regional Investment Agency, where she set-up and launched the Agency’s operations, promotes the COMESA region as a single market and an attractive investment destination, and manages initiatives aiming to further improve the business and investment climates of COMESA Member States. 

Heba Salama has provided leadership for various initiatives and promoted increased intra-African cooperation in the field of investment promotion, capacity building for African investment promotion agencies, in cooperation with various development partners both local and international.
